Case Cross Extension Table

Since graduating from London’s Kingston Polytechnic in 1979, Matthew Hilton has built a following for his innovative, gorgeously crafted furniture and lighting, with pieces held in the permanent collections of London’s Geffrye and Victoria & Albert Museums, among others. His Cross Extension Table (2005) features an ingenious splayed-leg base, which maximizes user legroom while providing impressive stability. Finished with a solid-wood chamfered edge for comfort and durability, the tabletop has a locking steel mechanism that easily opens to accommodate the table’s additional leaves. Cross can seat up to 12 people depending on chair size. Made in Lithuania.

Simply pull one end of the table and the top smoothly expands, allowing insertion of up to two leaves for three possible table lengths: 78.75″, 98.5″ and 118.25″. After guests depart, store the leaves in the felt-lined compartment under the top – a feature that eliminates the “find the leaf” drama before gatherings.
