Danish designer Poul M. Volther trained as a cabinet maker and favored classic designs and quality materials over short-lived trends. After teaching at Denmark’s Design School, he joined Børge Mogensen at the cooperative FDB Møbler, where Volther designed several notable chairs. His J110 Chair has the comfort of a lounge chair and the functionality of a dining chair, with its tall, slanted back, curved armrests, and slightly scooped seat. It’s now produced by the Danish design company HAY. Made in China.
